

Isobel P. Brousseau, 91, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2016. She was born in Greenook, Renfrew, Scotland a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (McQueen) Pendergast. She was a secretary bookkeeper for the former Travelers Securities Corp and also served as Travel Consultant for Travelers Intercontinental Travel, now Travelers. Isobel was the club treasurer and charter member of Travelers Red Umbrella Toastmistress Club. She was a graduate of Morse College and I.B.M. School. She was a member and Past Chief Daughter of the Ellen Douglas Lodge #8 Daughters of Scotia, the Aisha Temple #83 Daughters of the Nile, Past Matron of Good Intent Chapter #17 Order of the Eastern Star and life member of Fidelity Court #16 Order of the Amaranth. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Roland W. Brousseau in 1982. She is survived by her trusted and dear friends, among them Delores Burr and Russell McClelland. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral service and the Eastern Star Service, will be Saturday March 26, 2016 at 11AM at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. A time of visitation at the funeral home will precede the service from 9:30AM-11AM.
