James Leonard Malcolm, 90, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2019. He was born in Everett, Massachusetts, a son of the late Harold H. and Mary P. (Crowell) Malcolm. James was a Design/Engineering Technician and had worked at Pratt & Whitney, Combustion Engineering and retired from MDC of Hartford after 23 years. He faithfully served his country in the US Army, during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant and retired after 26 years of service. He was a Communicant of St. Isaac Jogues Church and a lifelong member of the Men’s Club there. He was an avid fisherman and boater and enjoyed golfing with the East Hartford Golf League. He was a volunteer at the Bradley Air Museum and Westover Air Force Base as well as a former Boy Scout leader. He is survived by his beloved wife Anita (Huckabee) Malcolm, his daughter Wanda Prorok and her husband Eugene of South Windham, his son David Malcolm and his wife Melissa of Colchester, his sisters Barbara Amero of Somerville, MA, Phyllis Rohweddar of Boynton Beach, FL, Joan Lynch of Meredith, NH, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
