James Jim J. McAuliffe Jr.

James Joseph McAuliffe Jr. 64 formerly of East Hartford and most recently of Columbia passed away peacefully on Jan. 7, 2011. He was the loving husband of Celeste Irene (Verdone) McAuliffe. Jim was born in Hartford on June 24, 1946 son of the late James J. McAuliffe Sr. and Mildred (Martin) McAuliffe. He was a self employed accountant who had a passion for fishing and working in their garden. Above all he adored his grandchildren and loved spending as much time with his family as possible.

Along with his loving wife Celeste he is survived by his three children Lisa Weeden and her husband Andrew of Newington, Steven Heath and his wife Marie of East Hartford and Jeffrey Heath of Windsor Locks: his ten loving grandchildren Karissa Weeden, Carli Weeden, Heath Weeden, Austin Heath, Matthew Heath, Jeffrey Heath, Taylor Heath, Nicholas Heath, Luke Heath and Niko Fusco. Along with both parents he was predeceased by his sister Anne Grandie and a daughter Sherry Heath.

Family and friends are invited on Monday January 17th at 10 am to the Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, for a period of visitation prior to the 11 am Liturgy of Christian Burial officiated by Rev. Louis D. Cremonie. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
