Jean T. Goodison

Jean (Taylor) Goodison, 95, formerly of Glastonbury and Wallingford, passed away Sunday March 18, 2012 at Middlesex Hospital with family by her side. She was the wife of the late Russell Goodison. Born in New Haven on May 6, 1916, daughter of the late Alfred and Elizabeth Taylor.

Jean spent her early years in Wallingford, graduated from Lyman Hall High School and then The Teachers College of CT (now CCSU) and taught 3rd grade. She and Russell married and made their home in Glastonbury.

Jean spent her adult life caring for her family, and always volunteering her time to others in many capacities, which included many Church committees and Altar Guild work at St. James Church. Jean will miss her lifelong summers at her beautiful Leete’s Island in Guilford.

Jean will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her including three children, Elin Keating and husband Thomas of Manchester, Daniel Goodison and wife Suzanne of Old Saybrook and Joan Nardella and husband Anthony of Wallingford, grandchildren Brooks Goodison and wife Kimberly, Karen Christensen and husband Eric, Carrie Goodison, Mark Keating and wife Emily, Christopher and Steven Goodison and Jonathan Goodison and wife Michelle and great grandchildren, Aleia, Laina, Pearce, Trevor, Corey, Jacob, Joshua and Benjamin. Jean also leaves her two brothers William Taylor and wife Peggy and Robert Taylor and wife Nancy, several nieces and a nephew, and her extended family that always called her Gram.

Jean returned to Wallingford in 1998 to spend her later years at Masonicare Independent Living. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in her memory to

A funeral service for Jean will be held Friday, March 23, 2012 11:00 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 2584 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery.
