Jorge Luis Barco, age 25, of East Hartford, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 28th, from complications due to Asthma. He was born in Hartford to Jorge L. Vazquez and Jacqueline Barco Cruz on April 24, 1993. He graduated from East Hartford High School. He was an intelligent young man who loved his family, animals, cooking, cars, sports, and studying history. He is loved by many for his caring nature and wonderful sense of humor. Besides his parents, he leaves his Stepmother Stephanie Antonelli of Bristol; his siblings Stephanie Vazquez and her fiancé Casey Collins, Joshua Vazquez, and Mia Vazquez of East Hartford; his niece Amiyah Collins and nephew Leland Collins of East Hartford; his grandparents Norbert Santos and Mariana Cotto Vega of Puerto Rico. He also leaves his loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his dog Pookie. He was predeceased by his grandmother Carmen Vazquez; his grandfather Julio Vazquez, and his Uncle Julio Vazquez. Jorge’s final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. We would like to thank the Hartford Hospital community and New England Donor Services for their compassionate care. Family and friends are welcome to attend calling hours on Thursday, February 7th, 2019 4pm-6:30pm with a service to celebrate his life to follow immediately at 6:30pm all at Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT. 06018. A burial service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rocky Hill at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jorge’s memory may be made to the American Lung Association (www.lung.org) or New England Donor Services (www.neds.org).
