Katherine Rita Hutt

Katherine Rita Sheridan Hutt, 93, wife of the late William J. Hutt, died on July 21, 2014. She spent most of her life in East Hartford, was born in Hartford, the fourth child of the late Timothy William and Kate Ahern Sheridan. She was a graduate of St. Peter’s School and Buckeley High. She leaves her cherished and supportive children; Barbara Marie Hutt and William J. Hutt Jr., a devoted niece Katherine Mary Doocy Overbye and her husband Mitchel and their children Kelly and Andrew, three loving nephews Charles T. Doocy and his wife Cyndie and their children Cole and Caitlin, William L. Sheridan and his daughters Mary Ellen Nelson and her husband Chris and Susan Sheridan and James Sheridan and his son Timothy.

She also leaves with much affection the nieces and nephews of her late husband, Mary Hutt Kula, Elizabeth Hutt Sheehan, Raymond Hutt, Francis Hutt and Ernest Hutt.

Katherine was predeceased by her brother William T. Sheridan and her three sisters Margaret Sheridan who died in infancy, Loretta Sheridan Bernabeo and Marie Sheridan Doocy.

Katherine was a devoted mother and a very special kind and caring woman. She always enjoyed spending time with family.

She was employed by Traveler’s Ins. Co in the actuary dept. and attained the position of Statistical Analyst. She retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Division of UTC Configuration Contract as an Engineering Change Analyst.

Katherine was a communicant of the Church of the Assumption, Manchester.

The Hutt family extends their sincerest and warmest thanks to the nurses and CNA’s of the East Wing staff at Manchester Manor and Visiting Nurses of Connecticut for the kind and compassionate care they provided for Katherine.

A Mass to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, July 31st at 10am at the Church of the Assumption, 285 W. Center St., Manchester Ct 06040. There are no calling hours and burial will be private.
