It is completely beyond my understanding why it took me nine years to do this. My only excuse was my past ineptitude with the Internet but alas the last Neanderthal is finally out of his cave!
Aunt Kate was hands down my favorite Aunt next to Aunt Hedwidge. We were VERY close. She raised me for a year or so when I was six or seven. I remember Uncle Moe explicitly. Him and his Parakeet that would perch on his black rimmed glasses. That old 1961 Plymouth Valiant that he drove. The Cape Cod house in South Windsor and that square black and white TV.  Later at the Apartment  on Bidwell St. in East Hartford when Me'mere and Pep'ere were living with her.  I spent many weekends there during  my childhood. I had many, many invites from Ma'tant when she lived at Colonial MHP in East Hartford . She was a great cook and I never missed a dinner date. Her butternut squash was award winning as were her candied baby carrots. We spoke often about her pain dealing with the loss of Uncle Moe and later on her troubles with Danny. She was SO lonely in that department. I tried to be there for her while I was in CT  however, after I moved to FL we only spoke on the phone. She would have me over once a year to tune up her Buick. She often said that no one else could make it run as well. Nice compliment! If I was busy she would bribe me with dinner and it ALWAYS worked. If I have a nice streak in me it's because of her. She had a way of rubbing goodness off on everyone around her. I miss that infectious laugh of hers and her jovial demeanor. Until we meet again, I Toast my Father's Sister and I will cherish her memory forever, Godspeed Aunt Kate, we ALL loved you SO!

Aunt Kate was an important part of my childhood and adult life.  She always spoke the truth and loved her family dearly. I miss her very much.

I echo what Connie said...she was part of my growing up memories and I will miss
her dearly. We were so looking forward to a visit together here in Maine this summer.

Kay was a wonderful lady who I knew for years. She always had something nice to say about everyone and was such a positive person. She will be sadly missed by those who knew her.

When I think of Aunt Kate, I  remember her laughing and joking.   Growing up, she always had a crocheted doll on her bed and a creamer pitcher collection on a shelf. I will think of her each time I make her recipe for date bars,that she gave me many years ago.

Aunt Kate and Uncle Mo were part of our childhood famiy memories. If I close my eyes I can still hear her laugh and picture her at the kitchen sink helping Mom clean up after a holiday meal. She's finally with the love of her life, Uncle Mo.

Aunt Kate and I were always close and even after I moved to Anchorage, Alaska she could reach out touch me. She would say "after all the phone doesn't know about distance, call me". I am glad we saw her last October on our way back to Minn. I am going to miss her dearly. May God rest her soul.

I only met Great Aunt Kate a few years ago... What a nice lady! So glad we met. Rest in peace.
