Lois J. Carlson

Lois J. Carlson, 98, long time resident of East Hartford, more recently of East Windsor, passed away on July 30th, 2012. She was born on March 26, 1914 in Hartford, a daughter to the late Charles Sr. and Martha (Madsen) Jorgensen. She was the widow of Edward G. Carlson sincxe 1968. Lois was a dedicated parishioner since 1947 of The Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hartford, CT where she served on many sub-organizations and committees. She held several offices and sat on many committees of the former Hockanum Chapter of the AARP in East Hartford.

Lois is survived by her son, Jon E. Carlson of Asheville, North Carolina, her brothers James and Howard Jorgensen, her sister-in-law Mrs. Margaret Jorgensen and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Lois is predeceased by her sister Martha Abbe, and her brothers Charles, Henry and John Jorgensen.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a period of visitation on Sunday, August 5th, from 2-4pm at Benjamin J. Callahan/Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT, 06108.
