Lorraine Marie (Gagnon) Pouliot, 79, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Ste. Marguerite, Canada, a daughter of the late Pierre and Aurore (Gagnon) Gagnon. She was a Communicant of St. Rose Church and a longtime private duty nurse. She was a caregiver in many ways, a lover of animals, both wild and domestic and enjoyed arts and crafts, cooking and gardening. She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Edward G. Pouliot, her daughter Melissa Guyette and her husband Neil of Brighton, MI, her son Steven Pouliot, of Berlin and his girlfriend Jennifer Karotkin, of Southington, two grandchildren, Mikayla and Brandon Guyette, six sisters, Jacqueline Ferro and her husband Melchior, Colette Cameron and her husband Claude, Rejeanne Roy and her husband Gilles, Claudette Gauvreau and her husband Michel, Francine Perreault, Marie-France Faucher and her husband Roger, three brothers, Rolland Gagnon and his wife Solange, Paul Gagnon and Henri Gagnon and his wife Ange-Aimee, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Georgette Parent and her husband Fernando, her brother Adrien Gagnon and his wife Yolande, her sister in law Nicole Gagnon and her brother in law Donald Perrault. Funeral services will be Wednesday February 20, 2019 at 8:30AM from the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial 9:30AM at St. Rose Church, Church St. Inurnment will follow in St. Mary Columbarium, Burnside Avenue, all in East Hartford.
