She was born in Meriden, daughter of Michael and Marie (Rotondo) Caruso, and was a resident of East Hartford since 1940. She was a retiree of Travelers Insurance Co. and also worked for G. Fox & Co. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where she helped establish the church library and was a Sunday School teacher. She also was a Cub Scout leader.
Immediate survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Brooks and John Van Camp of Mount Vernon, NY; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Donna Brooks of Glastonbury, CT; her daughter, Deborah Brooks of Washington, DC; and two grandchildren, Kyle and Kerry Brooks of Glastonbury. She was predeceased by her former husband, Ralph Brooks and a son, Don Brooks.
Funeral services and burial are private, under the direction of Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford. Memorial donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 1120 Silver Lane, East Hartford, CT 06118.
