Lucille G. Breton, 84, passed away peacefully on June 7th, 2013. Born in Eagle Lake, ME on July 3, 1928, Lucille was the daughter of the late Leona and Emile Gagner. She was the youngest of 8 children and moved to East Hartford, CT prior to starting High School.
After graduating high school in 1946, Lucille met her husband Gerry and together they enjoyed hosting family events at their home in Newington and traveling extensively.
Lucille was employed at Connecticut General Insurance Company in Bloomfield, CT for 38 years. She enjoyed reading, listening to music, sing-a-longs, word games, Scrabble, trivia, playing cards and was on a bowling team. Lucille liked dogs and cherished her black poodle, Nanette.
Lucille will be remembered as being very sociable and having a great sense of humor. She always made a lasting impression with anyone she met. She will be dearly missed.
Lucille is survived by her sister Lila Dube of Portland, Maine, sister-in-law Gabrielle Johnson of Enfield, CT, and many nieces and nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her siblings, Loretta Soucie, Louis Gagner, Neal Gagner, Camille Gagner, Jeanette Thibodeau and Beatrice Sime.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a period of visitation on Tuesday, June 11th from 5-8pm at Benjamin J. Callahan/Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, CT. Funeral Services will begin at the funeral home at 9am on Wednesday, June 12th., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 673 Ellington Rd., South Windsor, CT. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family.
The family would like thank the caring staff at Mountain Laurel Senior Living where she loved her life for the last four years and Salmon Brook Healthcare in Glastonbury for taking such wonderful loving care of Lucille in her final days.
