Madeline "Mita" Hernandez

Madeline “Mita” Hernandez, age 50, wife of Francisco Velez, from East Hartford passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 13 at her home. Madeline was born February 8, 1969 in Hartford to parents Pedro Hernandez and Marta Rodriguez. She was the eldest granddaughter to her late grandmother Martina Rodriguez. She was a loving big sister who loved and protected her younger sisters, brothers and cousins. She was a phenomenal aunt to her nieces and nephews who she spoiled and cared for them as if they were her own. She worked at Phoenix for over 25 years. Her great sense of humor and caring personality will be missed. In addition to her husband Francisco, she is survived and will be dearly missed by parents Pedro and Marta, Sister Judy Lopez and husband Justice, brother Freddy Tirado, sister Heather Hernandez, nieces and nephews Justis, Jaylene and Jakob Lopez, Kristyn and Trey Tirado, aunts, uncles, ALL her cousins and dear friends. Visitation hours will be Friday, May 24th, 2019, from 4-8pm at Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave, East Hartford. Services will begin at the funeral home on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 10am. Burial will follow immediately in Silver Lane Cemetery.
