Marc A. Gagnon, 66 of Bolton died on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was born and raised in St. Cecile de Frontenac, Quebec, Canada and has lived in East Hartford for over 37 years, living in Bolton for the last four years. He was the owner and operator of Marc Gagnon Construction Company for over 40 years and was a member of the French Club. Marc’s passion was woodworking as he was a natural handyman who loved to lend a helping hand to whoever needed him. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jeanne (Baillargeon) Gagnon and his beloved three daughters with their families, Lynn Gagnon of East Hartford, Manon Gagnon of Bolton, Catherine Thompson and her husband, Jon-Paul of Salem CT. He is also survived by four precious grand children who were his pride and joy, Victoria, Xavier and Lillian Burhans, and Harrison Thompson. He was predeceased by a grandson, Dalton Anthony Duva.
He leaves three sisters, Francoise Mathieu of Manchester, Jeanine Goulet of Canada and Solange Turcotte of NY, he was predeceased by a sister, Rolande Thivierge. Marc leaves many brothers and sisters in law and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Church 370 May Rd. East Hartford. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, 1 Hillside St. East Hartford. Calling hours will be on Friday, June 18, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave. East Hartford.
