Margaret Mrs. McGlynn

Margaret McGlynn, 100, of East Hartford, died March 6, 2018 at Salmon Brook Center. Born March 31, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Rose (Sinatro) LaPoll. Margaret worked 20+ years at The Travelers Insurance Co, then many years at the Wickham Public Library, where she especially enjoyed reading to children. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed travelling and baking apple pies. Margaret was a faithful communicant of St Rose Church in East Hartford, stayed engaged with current events in the news, and never missed an opportunity to vote Democratic. Mrs. McGlynn is survived by her children Michael and Margaret McGlynn of Virginia, Peter McGlynn of East Hartford, Donna Armstrong of East Hartford, and Angela and Billy Foran of East Hartford; grandchildren Kristin Armstrong and Sarah Bailey, Lesley and Brian Pleasants, Patrick and Kelly McGlynn, and Amy and Christopher Bryan; great-grandchildren Seth, Corey, Alec, Madison, Blake, Gabriel, Jonah, and Micah; special niece and nephew Bettina Lowe and Anthony Cronin; special sister-in-law Jane LaPoll; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by sister Marie Cronin; brother Albert LaPoll; son Thomas McGlynn, son-in-law Dennis Armstrong; and daughter-in-law Karen McGlynn. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial Donations may be made in Margaret’s name to Windsor Food and Fuel Bank, P.O.Box 854, Windsor, CT, 06095 or to FoodShare, 450 Woodland Avenue, Bloomfield, CT 06002-1342.
