Marie Clara Schleicher

Marie Clara (Rival) Schleicher, age 96, beloved wife of the late Raymond Orr Schleicher Sr., of East Hartford passed away at her home on December 27, 2020. Born on December 31, 1923 in East Hartford she was the daughter of the late Frank and Clara (Schilling) Rival. As a young girl she worked on her parents’ farm. She was a lifelong resident of East Hartford and graduated from East Hartford High School, class of 1941. Marie was an 80-year parishioner of South Congregational Church.

Marie was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family. She leaves behind to mourn her passing, four sons and their families: Raymond Schleicher Jr. and his wife Doan of East Hartford and their children Dennis and Darin (predeceased), Walter Schleicher and his wife Annette of Bolton and their children Jeffrey and Matthew, James Schleicher and his wife Marjorie of East Hartford and their children Sara and Scott and Ronald Schleicher and his wife Tracy of East Hartford and their children Tyler, Andrew, Emily and Colin. Marie is predeceased by her brothers Frank and Charles.

She also leaves behind her beloved great grandchildren: Olivia, Alice, Emerie, Kyle, Charles and Hannah.

Marie was a gracious and generous woman with a deep faith and a great love for family. She enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles, knitting, and family get togethers.

Marie lived a happy and good life and now she joins her family in heaven and will be at peace in God's arms.
