

Marilyn (Marylou) Lyles St. Laurent, 85, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. She was the daughter of the late George and Eleanor Fleming of East Hartford. She was predeceased by her late husbands, Calvin Lyles and Thomas St. Laurent.
A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Marylou will be dearly missed by her two daughters and their spouses: Pam and Jerry Scheinfeldt of East Hartford and Chris and Greg Williamson of Southington; five adored granddaughters , Carrie Brunalli, Erin Wood, Elizabeth Davenny, Lauren Martin and Amanda Brush, and six treasured great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, George Fleming and loving nieces and nephews. Marylou also will be missed by her many friends and extended family. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Snookie.
Marylou was a lifelong resident of East Hartford and member of the First Congregational Church of East Hartford. Prior to her retirement she worked as a telephone operator. She was a volunteer at Manchester Hospital for many years. She enjoyed life and people. She loved to read, play cards, travel and spend time with her family and friends. Family was all important. She was a special person who will be forever missed.
Her family is grateful for the loving care and friendship she received the last five years at Emeritus in South Windsor.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 8, at 10AM, at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford. Friends and family are welcome to gather at 9:30AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 7, from 4 to 7PM at the funeral home.
