

Marion Ogilvie Hamilton, 96, of Rocky Hill and formerly of Rochester NY and Largo FL passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Hartford Hospital. She was born February 1, 1915 in Rochester, NY daughter of the late Arthur and Florence (Bernhard) Ogilvie. Marion was the widow of Alexander F. Hamilton who predeceased her in 1998. She grew up in Rochester and graduated from the University of Rochester, Class of 1936 with a BA in Biology. She was a member of the Theta Tau Theta sorority.
She was an exquisite artist and painter, an avid golfer, bowler and pianist. She was a member of the Hope Presbyterian Church in Clearwater, FL, where she sang in the choir and was an active volunteer in its community service programs.
She is survived by her three children - Robert R. Hamilton of Sparks, NV, Dr. Linda H. Archer and her husband James H. of Nairobi, Kenya, and Russell S. Hamilton of Portland, CT; a sister - Jean O. Hecker of West Covina, CA; two nieces - Sandra J. Schweitzer and Donna J. Navarre; six grandchildren - William A. Hamilton Jr., Lawrence Werner Jr., Eric S. Hamilton, Scott R. Hamilton, Sarah K. Lawrence and Samantha M. Hamilton; 11 great grandchildren - Jeffrey Kerr, Amanda Hamilton, Zachery T. Hamilton, Devon T. Hamilton, Veronica C. Hamilton, Alyssa R. Hamilton, Kylie Hamilton, Tana G. Werner, Ikael S. S. Hamilton, Joshua Hamilton, Serena D. Werner, Jaclyn R. Cortes. She was predeceased by a son William A. Hamilton, a daughter-in-law Carol M. Hamilton and two grandchildren Catherine A. Hamilton and Sean M. Hamilton.
Relatives and friends are invited on March 1st at 6pm to the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury for a period of visitation prior to the 7 pm Memorial Service. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Mount Hope Cemetery, Rochester, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Marion’s memory to the National Fibromyalgia Association, 2121 South Towne Centre Place, Suite 300, Anaheim, CA 92806.
