“Major” Mark Anthony Robinson, 63 of Manchester. Passed away from complications due to cancer on December 7, 2022. He was surrounded by the love of his life and his daughters.
Mark was born April 13, 1959 in Hartford, CT to the late Irene Theresa Kotowski and William David Dougan Robinson of East Hartford. He attended East Hartford High School.
When Mark was a young boy, he began his love for baseball (go Red Sox) and music, more specifically the guitar. Being in a family of 7 children, he had to make a choice between the two, he chose the guitar, and that was the day a Blues-stringer was born. From the very beginning he possessed a natural talent for those six strings; he could play any song back to you after hearing it just once or twice. He played in his band the “Alley Gators” for over 35+ years, playing all over the east coast. They have also donated countless hours to play at remembrance parties, and charity events.
Mark tried to live everyday with laughs, love, compassion and understanding in his heart. The same things he would teach and pass down to his children and grandchildren. He was a big family man and would always take his two girls, niece, and nephews to the beach, fairs, and carnivals. He always tried to give us the best childhood, and he did. He would also do this for his grandchildren that he adores. He has been the best “Krampa” to his six grandchildren.
Mark is proceeded in death by his mother Irene Robinson, his brothers William Robinson, Dennis Robinson, his sisters Maureen Farley, Janice Robinson all of East Hartford, CT. and his sister Shelly Gay of Bangor, ME.
Mark is survived and will be dearly missed by the love of his life and wife Patti Hayes, his two daughters Emmajean Hayes and life partner Andrew Bonilla, Amanda Hayes Martinez and husband Andrew Martinez all of Manchester, CT. His 6 grandchildren Jeremiah, Aiden, Caleb, Charleigh, Koda, and Sadie. He also leaves behind his sister Susan Atkinson, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, countless friends, and the love for the Blues in all of our hearts.
Mark’s wife and children would like to give a special thank you to his nephew Christopher Farley of East Hartford, CT. for all of the love, help, and support thought this difficult time.
