Marta L. Montalvo, age 83, of Hartford, beloved wife to the Late Emilio Montalvo, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 26, 2020. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the Late Baudilio and Ceferina (Bermudez) Mondalvo.
“La virgen te cuide y te acompane” was Mami’s answer every time any of us, grandkids, or even a stranger just met her and said “Bendicion.” She had a quality to make anyone laugh, comfortable and welcome into her circle. She was humble and loved to party, especially playing the “guiro” and dancing. When she was going to clean the house, she will put the music loud to clean and dance. She was a very happy person. To her, no one was a stranger; she would welcome them and connected with them in a way that the person felt like they knew her for a long time. She loved family, especially her grandkids and would be so happy anytime someone came to visit her. They will leave with such a happy heart and always return to visit. We will miss you laugh, good humor, kindness towards others and most of it your present. We love you forever, MOM.
Marta is survived by her children; Rosa Torres, Emilio Montalvo, Ricardo Montalvo and his wife Angela, Marta I. Montalvo, Aracelis “Annie” Montalvo, sixteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two brothers, Radames Montalvo, Jose Montalvo and his wife Melvina, and sister, Elsa Morell and her husband Edwin.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, November 5th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at The Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford. A Memorial Service will commence at 4:00 pm during the visitation. Interment will be private.
