On Sunday Our Lord called Mary Perkins home to be reunited with her husband Ed. Mary was born on October 10, 1917 and passed on September 30, 2018, 10 days shy of reaching the age of 101. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was twice the keeper of five generations.
Mary, with her beloved husband Ed Achieved all there was to achieve in life with raising a family, church, farming, scouting, camping, traveling, square dancing, volunteering for meals on wheels, and time in Heath, MA. Her smile and friendship will be missed by the residents and staff at Woodlake At Tolland where she spent her last years.
Mary leaves behind her three children, Doris Robotto and her husband John of Manchester, Richard Perkins and his wife Virginia of Cary, NC., and Phyllis Perkins and her companion Jen of Arizona, her grandchildren, Kathryn Davis, Holly Nieto and Rebecca Barberich, Susan Perkins, Ann Paradis, Marie Engstrom, her great grandchildren, Justin, Christopher, Brandon, Tyler, Sarah, Zachary Luke, her great great grandchildren, Sam, Eve, Anya Abigail and Brady, niece Linda Arthing (Eddie) of SC, many nieces and nephews on her husband’s side, the family of Ed Perkins, The Opalnick families, Cheryl Horozy and family, the Dziob family, Diane, Carol and David and families, the children of Florence Crockett in TN. and the Brazolovich families.
In addition to her husband she is predeceased by her sister Lillian North.
The family would like to thank the staff at Woodlake for their care, to Toni who visited weekly and “sister” her partner in mischief.
A special thank you to her granddaughter Kathryn, who took caring to a new level.
This morning two cardinals were outside the window. We know you will always be with us. The cardinal is a celebration of joy and departing.

A calling hour was held on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 10-11AM, with a funeral service following immediately at 11AM, all at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford CT 06108.
