Sue and Doug, I'm so sorry to hear of Nancy's passing. I just found out from your cousin Kim. It's times like this that make you regret losing contact with people who were part of your history and such a huge part of your childhood. We just drifted away from each other, and then life happened and we never drifted together again. I have a lot of wonderful childhood memories though, and Nancy is featured in a lot of them. Swimming and hanging out in Northend Park in the summer, ice skating in Martin Park and sledding in Wickham Park in the winter. Playing tennis in the street on Deerfield Ave. Playing baseball in the street on Deerfield Ave. Playing football in the street on Deerfield Ave. And constantly having our play interrupted by cars. We had a really lucky childhood in that, a much simpler time. And then to hear she was gone. And then, while looking for her obituary online, I find out that you've also lost your Dad and Tommy in the last 2 years. My heart breaks for both of you. I didn't know her husband, but knowing Nancy he must be a good guy. I'm keeping both of you, and all the rest of your extended family, in my thoughts. Love, Mary Ellen

My fondest memories of growing up in East Hartford come from spending my time with all of The Christensens. Nancy, Sue, and Tommy. Endless hours of playing tennis on Deerfield Avenue, learning how to dance, Nancy and I sharing babysitting gigs. My heart is heavy. My deepest sympathies to Sue, and Douglas and Neil. With Love. Diane
