Nancy K. Spielman

Nancy K. (Giansiracusa) Spielman, 65, of South Windsor, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 15, 1947 in Hartford, daughter of the late Michael Richard and Grace (Maston) Giansiracusa. She was the wife of the late Richard Spielman Sr.

Nancy had many different circles of friends for whom she always made to feel welcome at her home. She was known for her cooking and baking that “people would drive from miles around for”. Nancy would open her home to whoever needed a place to eat or a place to stay; she was a mother and a friend to many. She was a supportive and loving woman who adored and cherished her family.

Nancy is survived by her three children and their families; Michelle Spielman and her daughter Karina of South Windsor, Richard Spielman and his wife Jennifer of Vernon, Michael Spielman and his daughters Angie and Lulu of South Windsor, her sisters Teri Godfrey and Christine Ferrell both of East Hartford. Nancy will also be dearly missed by her cherished niece Francesca Ferrell of East Hartford, best friend Kathy Chase, special friend of the family and Karina’s father; George Pulley, special Aunt Sonny and many close friends.

Nancy is predeceased by her husband and her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 5th, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church, 1 Community Street, East Hartford. Family and friends are asked to gather at the funeral home at 9:00a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours will be Friday, January 4th, from 5-8pm, at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT. 06108
