Normand was born on May 15, 1928 in Ocala, FL, a son of the late John and Anita (Bernier) Adams.
He was a resident of East Hartford for 52 years. Normand was employed by Hamilton Standard for over 40 years, he was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church as well as an active member of the St. Mary’s Men’s Club and a life member of the French Social Circle in East Hartford. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He touched everyone with his generosity.
Normand enjoyed cooking and playing cards, especially playing SCAT with his grandchildren.
In addition to his beloved wife Angele of 64 years, Normand will be dearly missed by his son Richard Adams of South Windsor, son Robert Adams of East Hartford, daughter Theresa Barahman of South Windsor, and daughter Patricia Hettrick and her husband David of Middlefield, CT., sister Ruth St. Pierre and her husband Richard of Rhode Island, grandchildren Meagan and Dawson Hettrick, Andrew, Aric and Austin Adams, and many nieces and nephews.
Normand is predeceased by his brother, Ronald Adams, of Rhode Island.
Friends and family are invited to attend a period of visitation on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013 from 4:30-7pm at Benjamin J. Callahan/Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT 06108.
Funeral services will begin Monday, Sept. 30 at 9:00am at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary’s Church, 15 Maplewood Ave., East Hartford.
