Paul M. Picard, 55, of East Hartford, entered the Lord’s embrace after a long battle with Diabetes on Sunday, January 27, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved son of Joseph and Helen (Stanowski) Picard.
He was raised in South Windsor. He worked at Pratt & Whitney for many years as a machinist. Paul was devoted to his family, he cherished time spent at family gatherings. He was a kind and tender man who always put the needs of others first. A member of the Truth Baptist Church, his faith was the source of his strength, often reading and reciting scripture. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Paul will be dearly missed by his brother Daniel Stanowski of Meriden, Arline Couture and her husband Jean-Guy of Manchester, Theresa Meyer and her husband Andreas of East Hampton, David Picard and his wife Lisa of South Windsor, Nancy Byk and her husband Andrew of Middlebury; his nieces and nephews Amy, Michael, Raeann and Andrew; his great niece Isabella and many dear friends.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013, from 5 to 8PM at Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford CT 06108. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 10AM, at the Truth Baptist Church, 60 Burnham St., South Windsor, CT 06074. Burial will follow in Wapping Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations in Paul’s name may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
