

Paula J. (Rivard) Foran, 65, of East Hartford, CT peacefully entered into rest on May 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of almost 45 years to Kevin Foran. She was born on September 15,1959 in Hartford, CT. The daughter of the late Phillip and Pauline (Pulcifur) Rivard.
Paula was a lifelong resident of East Hartford, Connecticut. She graduated from East Hartford High School in 1977 and went on to marry the love of her life, Kevin, on August 2, 1980. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering family bonds—a life Paula poured her heart into every single day.
She began her professional career as a key punch operator for JCPenney before using her natural artistic talents in the bakery departments of local grocery stores. Her creativity and warmth left a sweet impression on everyone who enjoyed her beautifully decorated treats. She later transitioned to food services in East Hartford public schools, ultimately serving as a food services manager at Sunset Ridge School in East Hartford before retiring.
Paula’s greatest joy was her family. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest accomplishment. The last 7 years as “Grammy,” her grandchildren were the center of her world. She found happiness in the everyday moments—baking cookies, attending school events, sports games, building sandcastles at the beach, and simply being present for the people she loved. Her nurturing heart and unwavering support created a legacy of love that will live on in all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Kevin, and their three children: Danielle of East Hartford; Kristy and her husband Ryan Hafner of Suffield; and Kevin and his wife Stefanie Foran of Broad Brook. Paula also leaves behind six treasured grandchildren—Kace, Knox, Trey, Kevin, Cole, and bonus granddaughter Giana—each of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life.
She is also survived by her brother Randy and his wife Patty; her sisters Jolene and her partner Jean, and Doreen and her husband Frank Florio; her sister-in-law Tutie; brother-in-law Billy and his wife Angela Foran, and many loving nieces and nephews. Paula was blessed with countless friends throughout her life and held a special place in her heart for her lifelong best friend, Sue McDougall.
Paula was predeceased by her loving parents, Pauline and Philip Rivard; her sister Renee; and her brother Bo.
She treasured their annual family vacations to Hampton Beach; NH where cherished memories were made. She loved being near the ocean—finding peace in the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun. That same peace and warmth radiated from her in everything she did. Her generous heart, gentle presence, warm smile, and deep devotion to family will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Life service will be on Wednesday, June 18th, 2025 at 6:15 PM in the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT 06108. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM prior to the service.
