

Paulina “Paula” (Lopez) Vazquez, 89, of East Hartford, loving wife of 45 years of the late Eduardo Vazquez, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by her beloved family at her home on Sunday, August 27, 2023. Born in Comerio, Puerto Rico on October 11, 1933, a daughter of the late Ramon and Luiza (Martinez) Lopez, she had been a resident of the Hartford/East Hartford area for many years. Paula was a proud homemaker who took great pride in caring for her home and always willing to babysit all of the children. She loved playing dominos and bingo, dancing, and singing music. Most of all, she was a gentle woman who loved being around her entire family.
Paula is survived by her children, Felix Vazquez of Hartford, Carmen Alicia Vazquez of East Hartford, Maria Maldena Vazquez of New Britain, Solmari Vazquez of East Hartford, and the “love of her life” Damion. She also leaves fifteen special grandchildren, Roselyn, Felix, Cristina, Marta, Moye, Eduardo, Jesus, Maribel, Pete, Norma, Victor, Jessica, Ismael, Brian, and Natalie; twenty cherished great-grandchildren; five adored great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Along with her husband and parents, Paula was predeceased by a son, Eduardo “Pito” Vazquez; and a grandson, Juan “Junito” Vazquez.
Paula’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday (September 5th) from 10 am – 12 noon at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. A funeral service celebrating her life will be at 12 noon at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
