Phillip M. Delaripa

Phillip M. Delaripa "Pop", 82, beloved father and grandfather, peacefully entered the arms of his Lord on Thursday November 10, 2016. He was born April 6, 1934 in East Hartford, CT, in the back seat of a taxi cab. He was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Gagliardi) Delaripa. He graduated from East Hartford High School in 1952. Phillip proudly served his country in the US Coast Guard. He retired from the Southern New England Telephone Company, was a parishioner of St. Christopher's Church in East Hartford CT, and a longtime member of the Elks club as well as Italian American Club of East Hartford. Those who had the honor of meeting Phillip knew he was a kind, caring, and a generous man who loved being surrounded by his family. Phillip is survived by his daughters, Catherine Johannes and her husband Michael of Sparta, NJ and Susan Earle of South Windsor, CT. He also leaves his 6 grandchildren, Christopher Earle, Sarah Moore and husband Ryan Moore, Matthew Johannes, Andrew Earle and wife Leita Earle, Zachary Johannes, Elizabeth Earle and great-grandson Luke Moore. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those would like to send their condolences, donate to the Newington CT Humane Society 701 Russell Rd, Newington, CT 06111, as Phillip had a strong love for animals. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday November 15, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Christopher's Church, 538 Brewer St. East Hartford, CT. Please meet directly at church. Burial with Military honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Hartford.
