

Born on May 30, 1939, in New York City, Richard spent most of his life in East Hartford. He always held a deep connection to his childhood home in Marlborough, Connecticut, near Lake Terramuggus, which remained his favorite place throughout his life.
Richard attended the Watkinson School, where he was a Latin scholar and a member of the baseball team. He later attended the Dick Robinson School of Broadcasting. He dedicated many years of his career to Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, where he worked until his retirement.
Richard found great joy in his daily routines, especially his visits to the East Hartford Senior Center and his favorite breakfast spot, where he built many lasting friendships. He was an avid fan of UConn Women’s Basketball and a passionate World War II enthusiast, maintaining an extensive personal library on the subject.
He was a devoted member of New Covenant United Methodist Church in East Hartford.
Richard was predeceased by his beloved wife, June (Trinks) Green, and his brother, Allan Green.
He is survived by his longtime friend and companion Barbara, his daughter, Pam Martin of Coventry; his cherished grandchildren, Brianna and Joseph; his loving sisters, Virginia Dupuis and Suzanna Zorzi; and many caring nieces and nephews. He shared a special bond with his devoted nephew, Richard Vinci.

Relatives may visit with the family on Saturday, March 28 from 10-11am at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT, with a service at 11am. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford, CT
