Stephen A. Sutton, 70 , of Moultonborough, NH passed away unexpectedly on August 25th , 2010 after an accident while doing what he enjoyed and valued, helping a loved one accomplish household tasks. Steve was born March 12, 1940 in Pittsburgh, PA. Upon graduation from Fordham University in 1961, he began his career as an underwriter with the Travelers Insurance Company and ended with General Re, retiring as a Vice President in 1999. He also served in the Army National Guard for more than 20 years as an officer and helicopter pilot. His career brought him to many parts of the country, including Chicago, St. Louis, Syracuse, Boston, Manchester NH , Hartford and Stamford, CT. Steve retired at the age of 59. He stayed active and engaged with biking, boating, skiing, snowmobiling, reading and completing many home renovation projects and most recently enjoyed his long desired Corvette. He especially enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren boating on Lake Winnepausauki and celebrating family events together. His smile spoke of great joy and he mentioned often how happy and blessed he felt. Steve was predeceased by his parents, Susan and Stephen Sutton. He is survived by four siblings, Sister Suzanne Sutton, Hilary Paul Sutton, Clifford Sutton and Eve Zindorf, as well as many nieces and nephews living in Pennsylvania, Arizona and Maryland. He leaves behind his former wives, Theresa Sutton of Nashua, NH and Dolores Sutton of Broad Brook, CT as well as their six children and families: Dr. Shawn Sutton and her husband, Michael Mosher of Henniker, NH; Dirk Sutton and his wife, Lisa of Bedford, NH; Margaret Sutton of Clinton, MA; Jason Sutton and his wife, Tyna of Glastonbury, CT; Gregory Sutton and his significant other, Jen Reaback of New York, NY; and Domenic Tummillo and his wife, Lisa of Glastonbury CT. From heaven he will watch over his 10 dear grandchildren --Briana, Celena, Martial, Parker, Drake, Tess, Bradley, Tyler, Katy, and Brendan. He also leaves behind dear friends Suzy Rissanen of Ledyard, CT and Peter Guastamachio of Glastonbury, CT. Steve was a loving father, grandfather and wonderful friend. He will be missed and mourned by many. Steve's final act was to be an organ donor. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 30th in Meredith, NH at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 300 New Hampshire Rte.25 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Hampshire Veterans Home, 139 Winter St, Tilton, NH 03276.
