Thomas resided in East Hartford with his nieces Denise Douglas and Melissa Bailey and their families. He was an Army Veteran of WWII having served in Burma. He was employed by the former Wholley family-owned Better Bedding Corp. of East Hartford for 20 years. He was a loving uncle who was devoted to his family.
Thomas is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Edmund and Dennis McCarthy and his sister, Rosemary (McCarthy) Wholley.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 19th, at 10am, at Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, CT 06108. Friends and family are welcome to gather at the funeral home at 9am for a period of visitation before the service. Burial will follow in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford.
