Virginia M. Zack

Virginia Martino Zack, 93, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of the late Joseph Andrew Zack passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 21, 2016 at Brookdale / Mountain Laurel in Glastonbury, CT. She was born in Hartford CT, daughter of the late Rocco and Hazel (Tryon) Martino. Virginia and husband Joseph shared 33 years of marriage before his death in 1980. She graduated from Hartford High School in 1940 and resided in East Hartford for over 66 years. Before her retirement, Virginia was employed by Conn. Mutual Life Insurance Company as an accounting clerk. She was an amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who adored her family. Virginia was an active member of St. Christopher’s Church in East Hartford, participating in social clubs, was a church counter and a member of a small Christian group. She leaves behind a large family including four children; Judy Belek and her husband Ron of Coventry, Donna Frenette and her husband Paul of Manchester, Ronald Zack and his companion Phyllis of Union and Andrew Zack and his wife Janet of Colorado Springs, CO, sister, Doris DellaRocca and brother, Joseph Martino, grandchildren; Melissa Skelly (Brian), Robyn Gottesdiener (Larry), Jonathan Belek (Kelly), Ariel Belek, Alison Slayton (Reid), Trevor Frenette (Jaclyn) and Elizabeth Kroll (John). She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; Ty, Max, Jordan, Zackary, Asher, Molly, Kai, Abigail and Jayden and sixteen nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 4PM-7PM at the Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home 318 Burnside Ave. East Hartford, CT 06108. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30AM Monday, July 25, 2016 at St. Christopher’s Church, 538 Brewer St. East Hartford. Everyone is asked to meet at church.
