Wendell James Cassidy

Wendell J. Cassidy, 73, of Glastonbury, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2013 at John Dempsey Hospital surrounded by his family. Born on April 6,1940 in Presque Isle, ME, he was a son of the late Doris and Charles Cassidy. He was a long time fan of the UConn Huskies and the Boston Red Sox. Wendell enjoyed spending time with family and friends listening to his tunes and playing "Scat". He leaves four children, Deborah and her husband Brent Plourde, Barbara Cassidy, Christopher Cassidy, all of Caribou, ME, Christen and her husband Corey Gauthier of Plainville; five grandchildren, and one on the way, Tyler Plourde, Whitney and her husband Jimmy Dee Lapointe, Nicholas Plourde, Christopher and Mason Cassidy; two great-granddaughters, Laura and Charlotte Plourde; a brother, Harry Cassidy and his wife Phyllis of East Hartford; a sister, Diann Johnson and her husband Gaynor of Manchester; sister-in-law Penny Cassidy of Glenburn ME; among many other family and friends. Wendell is predeceased by his three brothers, Edward Cassidy of Presque Isle, ME, Bryant Cassidy of East Hartford, and Terrence Cassidy of Glenburn ME.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 31, 2013, from 9-10:30 a.m at the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Tnpk., Glastonbury, CT 06033, followed immediately by a Memorial Service at the funeral home and burial in Green Cemetery, Hubbard St., Glastonbury.
