Willie Farley Sr., 73 of East Hartford, passed away on October 16, 2016. He was born in Birmingham, AL., a son of the late Abe Sr. and Mary (Hampton) Farley. He worked as a Warehouse Manager for The Reliable Stores Corp. Willie faithfully served his country in the United States Army, from May 1965-May 1967, attaining the rank of SP4 (T). He was also a faith filled Roman Catholic and was a Eucharistic Minister in Alabama. He was a musician at heart and loved to make music, sing and play the bass guitar. He played with such bands as Legacy, The Nocturn’s, The Yellow Brick Road and The Fabulous Galaxy’s. He was a loving life companion and is survived by his beloved wife Maureen (Robinson) Farley, his three sons John J. Farley Blackshear and his wife Diana of Springfield, MA, Willie Farley Jr. of Manchester and Christopher P. Farley and his wife Nancy of East Hartford, his sister Maylee Bryant of Hartford and his five treasured grandchildren, Cristina Rios, John Farley Jr., Nasya Farley, Ethan Farley and Christopher Rashawn Farley and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Frank, Clyde, Abe Jr., Mattie, Elizabeth and Charlene. His Life Well Celebrated Service will take place on Friday October 21, 2016 at 11AM at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford. Burial will follow with military honors in Silver Lane Cemetery Veterans Field, East Hartford. Visiting hours at the funeral home are Thursday October 20, 2016 from 6-9PM.
