Abby M. Amalfitano
April 3, 1996 – March 31, 2021
Abby Margaret Amalfitano was born on April 03,1996, and welcomed by her parents Andrea (Andy) and Susan, and by her siblings, her big brother Alex and big sister Stefani, with open arms and lots of love. Together, we have enjoyed so much with Abby, and with her passing she will leave a collective hole in our souls that will never be filled. This is because Abby, from day one, had a strong and driving personality that matched no one else, and for that we are all very blessed. For example, as a toddler barely having learned to walk, and after she had just underwent a risky spinal surgery that the doctors said would take her weeks to recover from, Abby immediately stood up in her crib and declared she wanted out of the hospital. The nurses were VERY impressed!
Our Abby was always smiling and happy to be with our family and friends growing up, sometimes as a child just getting up and walking to a favorite neighbor’s pantry for a quick visit and snack! Whether she was competing in swimming, being a master wakeboarder the instant after she first attempted the sport, visiting “the cousins”, cooking up a quick treat, sporting the latest fashion trends, or enjoying watching the look on her dad's face when she shared her latest hair dye selection or colorful tattoo, she always kept us on a spirited edge. Her free spirit extended into her being a connoisseur of fine foods at an early age, preferring sushi over burgers, and electing escargot over chicken fingers when given the opportunity, preferably via room service while on a cruise.
Abby always had a kind heart and gentle soul, she appreciated the unconditional love of her pets and all animals, and lived that out by taking in strays, helping out at the local animal shelter, or sharing kind tweets and instagrams on the topic. In her later years, Abby found solace in her artistic talents, many times trying to deal with today’s chaotic times by immersing herself in music, even creating her own tunes and sharing them with many others as a local DJ. Some of you may have heard her announce: “hey! come listen to me spin tonite!”. Her resume said it best, noting that Abby, “specialized in contemporary music, house music, and a unique mixing of these to provide entertainment, uniquely combined with her other skills that included a clear voice, good communications, and an always up beat and outgoing personality and style”. These, and all the other experiences we can’t possibly be summarized here, will make sure we can never forget our Abby, and we look forward to being with her again in a better place.
Abby was preceded in death by her uncle Carmine Andrea Amalfitano, and her grandpa Andy Amalfitano, who we know are now with Abby, and lovingly looking after her as they always did. Abby is survived by her mother, Susan Helene (Daniel) Isaia and father Andy (Julie) Amalfitano, her sister Stefani Anne Amalfitano, brother Alex Andrea Amalfitano, and step-brother Trevor Williams, her Grandma Tina Amalfitano, Grandma Margaret and Grandpa John Kennedy, her Uncle Joseph (Patricia) Amalfitano, and her cousins Grace, Kathyrn, and Angela Amalfitano, her Uncle Brian (Andrea) Kennedy and cousin Ashleigh, and Uncle Christopher (Lisa) Kennedy.
A Private family service is planned. In lieu of flowers, we know that Abby would like you to think about the Capital Area Humane Society/Animal shelter and supporting their efforts at https://www.cahs-lansing.org/support/donate/.
No public services are scheduled at this time. Receive a notification when services are updated.

I first met Abby years ago through mutual friends. No matter the moment- Abby was making those around her radiate with the warmth she gave off so naturally. Her laughter is one that will never be forgotten, so contagious everyone else in the room would errupt.
Some of my favorite memories with her included just surrounding ourselves with cute animals, the biggest heart she had for them.
She had the sort of charisma you just wanted to be surrounded by. Her creativity was impressive and attending her sets when she djed was something I’ll never forget.
Love you Abby.

Abby will forever be one of a kind, in the most brilliant and beautiful ways. She was the most loving and sweet person I've ever met.
Most people when meeting someone look for their flaws, well Abby, Abby would search over and over just to find someone's best quality and treat them just as kindly to suit, it didn't matter their past.
Abby was my bestfriend, and boy am I lucky to have had the sweetest person as my bestfriend. Never a dull moment, constant laughing, and the BIGGEST sincere hugs that I'll be missing dearly until we meet again. Chester & I love you very much Abby.

I wanted to write something about this sweet person Abby , who touched her parents hearts. I didn’t know her all that well, not like I know her mother, but I felt I did. Her quiet voice, her colorful personality and smile. Gentle as she was when you spoke to her.
She has now taken her journey, and with that, the wonderful talents to others she loved.
To Susan and Andy, she had a beautiful soul, of which came from two parents that showed her unconditional LOVE.
With Kindness Always,
