

Passed away July 13, 2012, at the age of 88. She was born May 18, 1924 in Windsor, Ontario, CAN., to Eremy and Anna (Suhaska) Kiriak. Alexandra graduated from Kennedy Collegiate School in Windsor, ONT. in 1940. In 1948 she married Gerard Chauvin. She pursued a career in engineering and architecture and moved to the Dearborn and Lansing area. She was employed for 12 years with the Michigan State Police Fire Marshall’s office as an architect reviewing plans for new construction and retired in 1989.
Her hobbies included being a Master Gardener, a seamstress, and an artist. Her enjoyment of studying language, reading, shopping, and travelling the world kept her active and busy.
She was preceded in death by brothers, John Kiriak and Thomas Kiriak. Surviving are her daughter, Antoinette (Robert) Crane; sons Marcel (Janet) Chauvin and Rene (Becky) Chauvin; five granddaughters; and sister, Mary Dow.
She spent the last four years at Riverwind Assisted Living in Williamston. The family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to the staff for the care they gave to Alexandra.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 19, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Church, 3355 Dunckel Road, Lansing, with the Rev. Royce H. Allen officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing from 6-8 p.m. Contributions may be made to Trinity Church Care Ministries in memory of Alexandra.
