(née Dumback)
Age 75
Alexandria Theresa Klusack, lovingly known to all as Sandy, passed away on December 26, 2025, at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan, at the age of 75.
Sandy was born on July 6, 1950, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Alexander “Alex” Leo Dumback and Mary Magdalene (Polaczyk) Dumback.
On August 23, 1969, in Barbeau, she married the love of her life, Larry Alvis Klusack. Together, they shared over five decades of marriage filled with love, family, and countless memories.
Sandy was a graduate of Haslett High School and spent her working years in customer service, where her kindness and genuine care for people were evident to all who knew her. She continued this spirit of service through her volunteer work at Sparrow Hospital, generously giving her time in both the Gift Shop and Cancer Center, offering comfort and warmth to patients and families alike.
Sandy made her home in East Lansing, Michigan, where she built a life centered on family. She was known for her caring heart and sense of style. Sandy treasured time spent camping with her family in Pentwater and Boyne, and she found so much happiness in watching her children and grandchildren play sports. Some of her most cherished moments were spent baking cookies with and for her grandchildren, creating traditions that will be carried on for generations. To them, she was lovingly known by her favorite name—“Mimi”—a role she cherished deeply and held closest to her heart.
Sandy had a way of making everyone feel loved and welcomed, and she will be remembered for her warmth, her elegance, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Klusack of East Lansing; her children, Larry Klusack Jr. (Julianne) of Bath, Michigan, and Laura Prince (Charles) of Portland, Michigan; and her beloved grandchildren, Aidan Klusack, Annabelle Klusack, Wyatt Prince, and Charlie Prince.
She is also survived by her sister, Delores Dumback, brother-in-law Phil (Mary Lou) Chalin, as well as many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Mary Dumback; her brothers, Alexander Dumback, Jack (Sharon) Melin, and James (Ruth) Melin, Walter Dumback, and her sisters, Mary Lou Chalin, Karen (Alan), and Ursula Schneider.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer; details will be shared by the family.
