He passed away at home with his family in Chesterland, Ohio on January 18, 2015 at the age of 90. Son of Alfred Olen Britt (deceased) and June Victor Elie (deceased), he was born in the village of Olmsted, Pulaski County, Illinois on August 24, 1924.
He is preceded in death by daughter Leslee Karen, son David Henry and brother Olen Junior.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Marie Black Britt; daughters, Nancy Jean Paresa, Rebecca Ann Fort, Mary Lynn Britt and sons, Daniel Lenneth and Kevin Victor.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 11am. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River, East Lansing, MI, 48823. The family will receive friends Friday, January 23, 5-8pm at the funeral home and Saturday 10-11am prior to the funeral service.

Len Britt was born and raised in southern Illinois. At the age of seventeen he enlisted in the Army Air Corp with his mother’s permission.
He served as a B-17 bomber pilot with the Army Air Corp during WWII.
The war in Europe ended prior to his being stationed overseas and was being retrained as a B-29 bomber pilot in Alabama when the war in the Pacific ended.
His service record also shows him qualified as “MM” with the 45 caliber pistol.
He attained the rank of Second Lieutenant at the time of his discharge from active service but continued to serve in the Air Force reserves until Jan 22, 1953.
Len graduated from Michigan State University with a Doctor of Veterinary medicine degree in 1950; University of Michigan with a MS in public health in 1961, and obtained a Ph.D. in veterinary pathology Michigan State University in 1966.
He began his career as a Veterinarian in Montfort, Wisconsin, then practiced in Athens, Ga., and Illinois before starting his seven year practice in Albion, Ind.
He continued his education at this time and taught at Michigan State University as a graduate student. After this he worked at the Fl. State diagnostic lab in Kissimmee, Fl., Auburn University in Auburn Al., Cornell University in Ithaca NY, and finished his career at University of Cincinnati. He taught at Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI during the early years of his retirement.
Len and Jean met while Len was in training at Michigan State University in 1943 and were married Dec. 27, 1944.They had been married 70 years at the time of his passing! They had three sons and four daughters: Leslee Karen, Nancy Jean, Rebecca Ann, Mary Lynn, Daniel Lenneth, David Henry and Kevin Victor. In addition they have many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
