Alfred A. Wolf, age 91, died October 1, 2014. He was born August 4, 1923 in Milwaukee, WI to Oswald and Else (Munch) Wolf. Mr. Wolf graduated from University of Wisconsin in Madison with a Masters and Ph.D in history, thanks to the G.I. Bill. He was Professor of Humanities at MSU, starting when the school was still Michigan State College. He loved learning and was interested in bird-watching, travel, participating in the Elder Hostel Program, and nature. He volunteered with the Nature Conservancy and the State of Michigan Archives. He loved his family and enjoyed teaching immensely.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Max Wolf; sisters, Dorothea Regan and Margaret Knapek. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Emily; sons, John Wolf, Andrew (Alishia) Wolf; grandchild, Louie Wolf; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 11, 2014 at University United Methodist Church, 1120 South Harrison, East Lansing, with the Rev. Dr. Jennifer Browne officiating.
Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
