Annelene Pinkston

Annelene passed away peacefully after a brave battle with heart disease early on June 3rd, 2026.

She was born to Fritz and Anna Steinbach in Schalksmuhle, Germany. Annelene immigrated to the United States with her family in 1954 to start a new life in a new country. She was raised in Lansing and went to Lansing schools, graduating from Sexton High School in 1969. She went on to Lansing Community College, where she studied nursing.

Annelene married in 1975 and had two children. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse for over 20 years before retiring. She was an avid gardener who was happiest at her summer home on Sugar Island in the U.P. She also enjoyed weekly trivia nights with her regular team in Perry.

Annelene was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her partner of over 20 years, Robert Bartell; sister, Karin; children, Ty (Mandy) and Tina (David Lawler); stepchildren, Nicolas and Kristian (Kimberly); and grandchildren, Scott and Kyle.

A visitation will be held for Annelene on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman East Lansing Funeral Homes located at 1730 E. Grand River Ave, East Lansing, 48823.
