Barbara was a 'grand' lady. So concerned about everybody she knew and always available to hear your concerns.
My sympathy goes to her family. Dave, I hope you can find comfort in remembering the many good years you spent together and in the support of your nice family

Barbie entered our lives when I was in grade school. I think she was happy to move close to her sister once again and we were lucky to have Barbie and her family “introduced” to us. She was always “Aunt Barbie” to me, but over time I adopted her kids' nickname of Babs on occasion. Barbie was always kind and considerate, but what I enjoyed most was her wonderful sense of humor. Her eyes lit up and a great “hah” filled the room. You always felt her appreciation for humorous situations. I remember many times when Mom and Barbie bantered back and forth over coffee, using their characters of Marge (Barbie) and Gladys (Mom), to the delight of anyone fortunate enough to hear their lively, light-hearted, crack-me-up conversation. I could always go up to her and say “hey Marge, how ya doin'?” And she would come right back with her Marge character in full force. Barbie was gentle and thoughtful, caring and understanding, and so very willing to see the humor in life. We'll miss you Babs.

My mother, Florence, was Barbie's dad's second wife and Barbie and Laurel were magically our beloved big sisters. She will be greatly missed and I offer my condolences to the family.
