Bethel Jeanne Wulf Mehrens

Bethel Jeanne (Wulf) Mehrens joined our Savior on January 28, 2011 at the age of 70. She is survived by her husband William A. Mehrens; two daughters, Lori Kopplin and Machell Johnson; two sons-in-law, John Kopplin and Todd Johnson; and four grandchildren, Jennifer and Allison Kopplin and Trent and Ross Johnson.

Bethel spent her life helping others. She had received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education from MSU. Bethel was a kindergarten and first grade teacher for 25 years. During those years she was an active church worker and a substitute organist. After retirement she was active in her church’s library and a women’s book club. Bethel, along with her husband, were charter members of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Haslett. She received much comfort and joy by her belief in Christ and her church friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church, 5589 Van Atta Rd., Haslett, MI 48840 in Bethel’s memory.

Visitation will be at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Lansing on Thursday, February 3, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral services will be held at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Haslett, Friday, February 4, 11:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior at the church.
