C. Gordon Henderson

Bath, formerly of East Lansing

Born January 22, 1929 in Alton, Illinois to Charles and Elizabeth Henderson, passed away on July 27, 2013. Gordon was preceded in death merely two months ago by his loving wife Iola A. Henderson who was his high school sweetheart and wife of 64 years and his sisters, Harriet Cross and Dottie Scheer. Gordon was a loving father and grandfather. Following his retirement he enjoyed his years as an avid golfer in Pinehurst, North Carolina and moved back to East Lansing to be with children and grandchildren whom he adored. Gordon is survived by his children, Diane (Dennis) Olmstead and Charles (Mary Karen) Henderson; grandchildren, Charlie (Nicole) Henderson, Angie Olmstead, Michael Olmstead and Amanda Olmstead. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Mark Ensberg, Dr. Enrique Lopez and caregiver, Christina Zarka for their care and compassion.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 2, 1:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Rd, East Lansing, with the Rev. Jerry Ploof officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
