Growing up, Cam was a great athlete and participated in football, baseball, and boxing. He graduated from H. H. Dow High School in 1986 and attended Delta College. He has held positions with CarQuest, Savant and, for more than 20 years, has been employed as a Lab Technician for 3M. In 2002, he married Christina Porter.
Outside of work, Cam was a sports enthusiast. He was a fan of MSU athletics, particularly football and basketball, and the Detroit Lions. He loved to attend games with family and friends whenever he had the chance. He was an even bigger fan of his children and their activities. He could usually be found on the sidelines of their events, cheering while taking photos and videos. He was also artistic, wrote articles on occasion for various publications, and liked to hunt.
Cam was known for his thoughtfulness, generosity, and sense of humor. He was always coming up with little jokes and loved to tease friends and family endlessly. He loved deeply all those who were close to him.
Cam is survived by his wife Christy; sons Peyton, Logan, and Brodie; twin brother Christopher McGregor; niece Darrien (Jerry) Loyselle and great niece Winnie; step-father Gary Phillips, mother-in-law Wanda Keelean; brother-in-law Rob (Patti) Porter; sister-in-law Becky (Kevin) Pricco; nieces Gia and Kate Pricco; nephew Vinnie Pricco; aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues, and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Phillips, and father, David McGregor.
Cam was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
A celebration of Cam’s life will be held at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes East Chapel, with visitation from 3:00-5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to the American Cancer Society or Sparrow Oncology/Cancer or Hospice Services.
The family would like to thank the Sparrow Herbert-Herman Cancer Center Team and all the wonderful doctors and nurses who cared for Cam at Sparrow Hospital. A special thank you goes out to the Hospice & Palliative Care staff whose efforts allowed us to honor his wish to come home.
