Casey Dean Verduin

Casey was born on December 16, 1987 and was blessed with loving parents throughout his 33 years.

Casey had an incredible sense of humor and his zest for life was unmatched. He was an animal lover who carried an incredible love for his family. Casey could fix anything and spent the last few years supporting the nation’s supply chain as a truck driver. Casey loved his hometown of St. Joseph and cherished his work for Mike and Jimmy at the John & Dede Howard Ice Arena. His favorite trip was a venture to Hilton Head with the Michaels & Goff families. Casey also adored his third grade teacher, Nancy Fette. The community of St. Joseph was incredibly kind to Casey.

Casey was a proud Mohawk, having graduated from Morley Stanwood High School. He excelled on the football field (#57) playing both offense and defense. One of Casey’s proudest moments was being chosen as Prom King in 2007. His greatest moment from high school was the day he met his best friend, Jeremy Martin. Jeremy and Casey became inseparable and the friendship endured the following 15 years.

Casey’s bright smile will live on with his loving family.

Casey is survived by his loving fiancé Trina Carlson, daughter Kinzie, parents Shar and Frank Walsh, sisters Sadie Kuron (Matt) and Brooke O’Meara (Kyle), niece Layla Kuron, grandparents Richard and Karen Rector, Mardell Walsh and Mary Verduin. He was preceded in death by grandfathers Carleton E. Walsh and Pete Verduin.

Our family is heartbroken. Casey’s death will leave a void in all of us.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Martha Catholic Church in Okemos on Tuesday, November 16 at 11:00 AM. The family will hold visitation on Monday, November 15, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes East Chapel, located at 1730 East Grand River in East Lansing.
