Died February 18, 2013 at the age of 90. Charles was born in Highland County, VA. September 25, 1922 to Charles Cleveland and Lottie Mae (Shaffier) Corbett. He retired from General Motors Corporation after 35 years of service in skilled trades. He served in the Army during WWII and was involved in six conflicts during his enlistment. He was a member of the Okemos/Haslett American Legion Post #269, enjoyed traveling and was an avid outdoorsman. His family meant everything to him and he loved them very much.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Margaret; three daughters, Sheila (Harvey) Wyskowski, Sandra (Tom) Young and Sharon (Jerry) Corbett; two sons, Charles (Nena) Corbett and Rick (Eileen) Corbett; ten grand children; twelve great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren; brother Bert (Sis) Corbett and five sisters, Delana Shaffier, Mercedes Hicks, Daire Waybright, Trevea (Robert) Rankin and Anna Lee (Douglas) Good.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, February 25, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memory Gardens with military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to HPH Hospice Foundation, Donation Dept., 12107 Majestic Blvd., Hudson, FL 34667-2455 in memory of Charles
