OBITUARY

Christene Anne Locke-Edington

October 9, 1953May 31, 2021

Christene Anne Locke-Edington. 67, of Owosso, MI, passed peacefully at home Monday, May 31, 2021, surrounded by family.

Our Momma, Grandma, Great-grandma, Mother-in-law, Sister, Aunt and Friend went home to be with God and her husband, Bob Edington, after a long, well-fought illness. She joined her baby brother, Todd, who passed earlier in the week, on the stairway to Heaven. We find comfort in knowing that they passed closely together.

Born on October 9, 1953 to John Norval and Barbara Lee Locke, Chrissy was a lifelong resident of the Perry/Morrice area and attended Perry Schools. She worked locally as a waitress and retail clerk throughout her life, at places such as Mrs. Williams Donuts, Joe’s Truck Stop, the Circle C Restaurant, the Morrice Superette and the Glitzy Ritz Truck Stop. She was very good at what she did and made great friends while doing it. Known affectionately to many in the community as Chrissy, “Grandma” or "Peanut," she always had a smile on her face, a story about her friends and family, and a warmth that made you just love her. She seemed to know EVERYONE in the area and they knew and loved her too. She loved the outdoors and in her younger years, she enjoyed going on color tours to the U.P. in the fall, camping up north, as well as snowmobiling and hunting with her husband.

She was an amazing mother to and is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Quinn Williams (Joe), of Owosso, MI, Stacie Quinn Jolley (John) of Owosso, MI and her former step and forever-in-her-heart daughter, Tammy Quinn Gontarek (David) of Rochester Hills. She so deeply loved and lived for her several grandchildren: Cole Bailey, Teegan Bailey, Phillip Quinn, Meggan Libbey, Mirranda Libbey, Seth Gill, Joshua Jolley, Jacob Jolley, Isaac Jolley, Broden Herren-Williams, and Autumn Gontarek. She also adored her two great grandchildren, Paislee Anne Quinn and Braxtyn Thomas Jolley. She was a beloved sister to her brothers Danny (Gloria) Locke of Dalton, GA, Brett (Kay) Locke of Perry, MI and her sister Jana (Tammie) Locke-Purvis of Mason, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert F. Edington of Morrice, MI, and her brother Todd Locke. She is now at peace and reunited with them and many other friends and family.

Cremation has taken place and services will be announced at a later date. Please take a moment to share a memory and upload any photos or special memories you may have.

"Tiny" (my nick name for her) was an absolute sweetheart! She didn't have a mean bone in her body! She took care of my dad like forever, which was a full time job...LOL She will be missed for sure and prayers to her family. She is in a much better place. Love to all that knew her.

Grandma was the grandma that I no longer had starting back in 2012. I was at lowest point in my life when I met Phillip which meant meeting grandma too. Grandma took me in under her wing and helped me out like a grandma would. She always made sure I was gonna to be ok. She cared for all of Phillips friends like her own grandkids, and that meant so much to me. If it wasn’t for grandma and her family I wouldn’t be where I am at today. I will always hold her close to my heart. I am so thankful to have her as my adopted grandma. I’ll always cherish our visits and conversations. Until we meet again Grandma I love you!
