Conrad C Henke

East Lansing, Michigan

Passed away December 30, 2012 at the age of 90. Born December 26, 1922, in Callicoon, New York the son of Bernard and Veronica Henke. After growing up on a dairy farm in New York state, he attended Fordham University in New York City and worked for Royal Insurance Company in New York and later Charlotte, North Carolina before retiring in 1989. Upon retirement, he volunteered for literacy programs and served as a Master Gardener in Charlotte. Conrad married Helen Kiernan in 1952. Helen, his wife of 60 years, survives him as does his son Rich (Christi) of Haslett, Michigan; his daughter Suzanne Holobetz of East Lansing, Michigan; and his grandchildren Tara and Chad Holobetz of Dallas, Texas.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing, Michigan 48823 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral mass will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 5, 2013 at St. John Student Parish, 327 M.A.C Avenue, East Lansing, Michigan 48823. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Conrad’s honor to the American Cancer Society, 1755 Abbey Rd., East Lansing, MI 48823 or to St. John Student Parish.
