I am just learning of Dr Leichty’s passing. What a wonderful doctor, he was. So kind and patient. Condolences to his family.

I am so sorry for your loss.  Dr. Liechty was a true genetlman.  He delivered my first son and was a big help during the delivery of my second child who was born with spinal bifida. I remember one of his visits after I delivered my second child, I was upset  and feeling like I wasn't getting answer. Dr. Liechty was the calming factor I needed at the time.  I still appreciate his calm demeanor and reassurance. I also ran into Dr. Liechty at Peoples Church.  I mentioned to him that he was the dr that delievered my son.  He seemed shyly honored at the compliment.  He seemed a little shy in that he didn't like the attention.  I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my father and sister and know how hard it is to lose those special people in our lives.  Dr. Liechty was a hero to so many of his patience.

I am so sorry to hear about your dad's passing.  You are in my thought and prayers.  I haven't seen  or spoken to you in many years, since moving from MI to NC, but think of you and your family often. I have wonderful memories of living next door to you on Farwood Dr.  Your family holds a special place in my heart.  Your dad was a wonderful man, who touched the lives and hearts of many.  What a blessing!  God Bless you and your mom and sisters during this difficult time.

Very sorry to hear about your father Jenny. I have fond memories of babysitting at your house back in High School, and your dad was always very kind.  Hope to see you and your family sometime under happier circumstances.

I am so sorry to hear of Curt's passing. He was a good friend. I grieve for you and your family.. I know if Gus were still here he would say the same. I am sorry I didn't learn of his death sooner so I could have come for his memorial. Know that my thoughts are with you.

To the family and friends of Dr. Curtis Liechty. Curt was an amazing physician and person. The Liechty family became a part of our life after our move to East Lansing. We attended Peoples Church together; our children attended East Lansing Schools together; John was my son's (Jessie) first friend in this new community. Brenda, Bonnie, and Jenny baby sat for my children; and we were neighbors. I worked with Dr. Liechty in Labor and Delivery for many years at Sparrow Hospital. He was always a kind, compassionate physician with a great sense of humor. Dr. Liechty will always be remembered for the many lives he touched. All who met Dr. Liechty were privileged in the many ways he enlightened the lives of others. May fond memories bring you comfort in the loss of such a precious person. My thoughts and prayers remain with you and your family. It was a joy to have known such a generous and loving man.

A fine man.  I thoroughly enjoyed him being in our golf league at Forest Akers for many years.  He always had a kind word and was respectful to everyone.

He delivered my daughter in 1984, and I have found memories of him and his office staff....always professional, and yet caring and compassionate......May your memories give you strength.

I was very sad to see the passing of my very first OBGYN. Dr. Liechty delivered my son 26 years ago next month by C-section. I will never forget his comment when I said" I think I am going to get  sick" He replied,"I don't think so...I have your stomach in my hands". I said, What? your supposed to get the baby! At that point, he had my heart forever. What great care he gave me. God bless, Dr. Liechty!

All of us in the Meridian Community Band are saddened by the passing of Curt, not only a fine musician but a wonderful gentleman.  At our concert this Friday evening, we will celebrate his life by performing the William Himes arrangement of "Amazing Grace," which opens with a chorus of trumpets. I was saddened by the sudden passing of Curt. As a medical staff colleague at Sparrow, I valued the fact that he was a team player. He was a leader in medical staff quality and credentialing. I will miss him.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Dr. Liechty.  I had the honor and pleasure of working with him for many years at Sparrow Labor and Delivery.  He was always the picture of professional.  At the many recent retirement parties he was the life of the party.  So kind, caring, fun loving and personable.  They don't make many like him in this life.  May God hold you all in his loving arms during this most difficult time.  I am blessed to have had his influence on my life.

This has been a nostalgic and a melancholy day, my having heard of Curt's death only this morning. Curt was my childhood hero. A cousin five years my senior, he seemed like a giant when I was only eight or ten years old. How amazingly tall and strong and handsome he was! I loved to ride with him on the tractor at the family farm! During fmily gatherings, I remember him helping turn dozens of chickens roasting on special grates over half-barrels in the back yard, behind the beloved old farmhouse. I vividly remember rolling down the hill there, curled up inside an old tractor tire. And chasing fireflys. And exploring the mysterious, musty barn. Those were the best days of my youth. Because my father was Air Force, I got to see Curt only sporadically during summer visits to Berne. After my mid-teens, we never crossed paths again. But the young man that I still idolize has been frequently in my heart and in my mind all these past 60 years. He will always live there.

Mary and Liechty Family members, please know that there are many men of the FOF golf group in Lansing who will thoroughly miss your husband. With the passing of Curt, one of the very best men of this world was taking taken from us too early in life. He was always jovial, friendly, sociable, gracious, and forever very, very helpful to others who needed his assistance in this world. A finer man cannot be found in this universe than Dr. Curtis A. Liechty. May your fondest memories of your times with him be everlasting remembrances.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Dr. Liechty  will always have a place in my heart. In 1979 he  delivered my daughter  who was born two months premature.  I am so thankful that he was there.  It was a very critical situation and because of his expertise we have a healthy beautiful daughter.

Dr. Liechty chaired a Sparrow committee on which I served. He had the perfect chair qualities of being organized, calm, fair and respectful of all. It was an honor to get to work with him in this capacity. Please accept my sincere sympathy.

Thoughts and prayers to family and friends.  I really appreciated Dr. Liechty for his kind compassionate attitude during the birth of my daughter.  He took the time to explain everything.  He had the best bedside manner.  Being the first birth (and only) he made it more enjoyable with his humor and smile.  Heaven has received a wonderful angel in this man.

Phil and I are sad to say good by to Curt. His daughter, Brenda, is a part of our family and we have gotten to know Curt and Mary through her friendship with our daughter since junior high school. It was with deep sadness to hear of Doctor Liechty's passing . He delivered my last child a little girl in 1977 , while going to his practice . He also was so compassionate, continually to myself and all his patients.  I went through a difficult time which resulted in my getting surgery , and he again help me to work through the trials in which it involved . Curt was a  terrific individual.  I called him Jack Rabbit on the tennis courts.  Can anyone guess why?  He was all over the court.  Curt will be  greatly missed.

Curt was a wonderful friend and colleague.  An excellent physician well respected and admired by all.  We came to Lansing together and crossed paths in Chicago before taking our OB Boards.  His sense of humor was infectious and relaxed both of us.  I last chatted with him on the driving range at Timberridge Golf Course several years ago during the Ingham County Golf Outing.  Just a quality person through and through.  He will be deeply missed.

We were deeply saddened to hear about Curt's passing.  When we lived in East Lansing we were neighbors, a fellow member of the medical profession and a member of our Gourmet Group.  We last saw him a few years ago and he made us feel like we had seen him the previous week when it had been many years.

From my years living in the Lansing area, I have very warm memories of Curt, from singing with him in the Choral Union, to days on the golf courses, and times of warm and interesting discussions at dinner with Curt and Mary. I am deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Liechty.  He will be remembered by his enthusiasm for life.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Curt played the trumpet in the Meridian Community Band and also sang in the MSU choral union. He was a member of my section and always practiced to get the music just right. I will always remember his cheerful attitude and caring nature. Curt will be greatly missed in our band but I'm sure that Heaven has another trumpet player.

Dr Liechty was a respectful, compassionate doctor. I well remember him from years ago when I was referred to him. I have never forgotten his demeanor. RIP Dr. L

He was a joy to know; always a smile on his face. He and I enjoyed sharing music together for many years. He always had time to chat and was always kind enough to laugh at my jokes. A sweeter guy never lived. He will be remembered and missed by many. My heart goes out to his family whom he loved and adored. We were all so lucky to have known him.

Bonnie, I was so sorry to hear about your dad. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers. I have wonderful memories of  my time in Michigan and your family is a large part of them. I will always remember how you invited me into your home for a holiday dinner after just meeting me and your parents were so caring and giving. Even though I knew your dad for a short time, I knew right away he had a kind heart. Please give your mom and sisters my sympathies too. Love to you all.
