Daniel Michael Bennett was born on March 9, 1955, to Paul and Catherine Murray Bennett in Butte, Montana. He passed away in Haslett, MI on February 3, 2025. Dan spent his childhood and early adulthood in Butte. As a graduate of Montana Technological University, Dan earned a degree in Environmental Engineering. Following his schooling, he worked in the insurance field as a risk evaluator. Dan enjoyed volunteering for the Area 8 Special Olympics, fishing, golfing, and spending time with family, friends, and his dog, Gilbert. While Dan spent much of his adult life in the Lansing area, his heart always remained in Montana.
In 1976 Dan married Catherine Mc Dougall Bennett with whom he had four children: Jennifer Dover (Dwight) of Milton, FL, Daniel Bennett of East Helena, MT, Paul Bennett of Helena, MT, and Matthew Bennett (Claire) of Bothell, WA. In 1991 Dan married Linda Faiver Bennett with whom he had two children: Derek Bennett (Monique) and Ian Bennett. Dan was predeceased by Linda after 28 years of marriage.
In addition to his six children, Dan is survived by his wife, Mary Shelton, his stepdaughter Abby Shelton, his brother Brian Bennett, and his nine grandchildren: Elora, Johnathan, and Alia Dover, Quay, Tavish, Iona, Louella and Irelyn Bennett, and Makayla Hannah.
