

Born to Dirk van der Voet and his wife, Hilda Morrill van der Voet, on June 7, 1948, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Debi graduated from Escola Americana in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, and attended Gordon College in Massachusetts. She married Michael A. Hogle on June 7, 1969, and together they raised their two sons.
Debi worked 45 years at Michigan State University in various roles, including in the Athletic Department and in the College of Social Science. During those years she also received a B.A. degree in History from MSU. Debi was a member of Red Cedar Church in Okemos, where she cherished her time studying scripture and reading books with her friends.
Some of her favorite pastimes included playing with her grandchildren, walking on the beach and finding interesting rocks, investigating genealogy with her cousin Marti, quiet time with her husband, and serving others in whatever capacity her LORD called her.
She is survived by her husband Michael of nearly 56 years, their two sons Bryan Hogle (Megan), and Steven Hogle, granddaughters Lucy, and Abby Hogle, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister Sandra, her brother Dirk, her father and her mother.
Debi was a loyal friend and confidant, loving and diligent. She created a bright spot in the lives of those who knew her and will be greatly missed.
There will be a Celebration of Debi's Life on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Red Cedar Church, 550 W Grand River Ave., Okemos, MI 48864.
